UK government announces £88m fund to boost zero-emission vehicle tech

The joint industry and government fund is set to award £88m to 46 projects developing green vehicle technologies. This includes £44.5m from the government and £43.5m from the automotive industry through the Advanced Propulsion Centre (APC).

Major recipients include Protean Electric and Gordon Murray Group, with £22.5m invested in their projects, aiming to enhance electric vehicle (EV) efficiency and create new lightweight platforms. The combined efforts are expected to save nearly 13 million tonnes of CO2 and secure around 1,000 jobs.
